A few months down the line, Clare and Paul asked if I’d head back to the venue to this time act as THEIR Trafalgar Tavern wedding photographer, and I was only too happy to say yes. What makes the Trafalgar Tavern one of those venues that I just can’t say no to is the banqueting rooms which are spacious and airy, and really lend themselves to photographers like myself. The banqueting rooms, located at the front of the property, feature huge bay windows which flood the room with light. This allows me to take more natural shots, as well as dramatic shots when I employ the flash.
These bay windows open up to a small balcony overlooking the Thames, so on sunny days it’s always nice to get a photo of the couple gazing out towards the river. However, I often find that it’s the interior of the banqueting rooms that is the selling point for many brides and grooms. Designed with classic sophistication without the over-the-top fuss, the rooms are completely versatile. Couples can add a modern touch easily to create a more contemporary feel or, as Clare and Paul did, they can opt to maximise the traditional aspect. Whenever I head to the Trafalgar Tavern to shoot a wedding, I’m always excited to see how this particular couple have chosen to decorate.
On nice days such as this one, it’s always such a pleasure to shoot outside of the Trafalgar Tavern. Holding a prime position north of Greenwich Park, south of the river, and overlooking Island Gardens in the distance, there are plenty of opportunities for al fresco shots under the sun. Whether taken during the daytime, or as the sun begins to set, I always find that photographs around the Trafalgar Tavern turn out perfectly.
Greenwich wedding photography is one of the most popular jobs I’m asked to undertake as a London wedding photographer, as the location is simply perfect for such events. Not only is the Trafalgar Tavern a favourite London wedding destination of mine, but it’s also a place I find myself coming back to on quite a regular basis. The venue is ideal for weddings, and I actually met Clare and Paul at the Trafalgar Tavern when I was there photographing another wedding!
