Jewish Wedding Photographer – I do love a Jewish wedding, which is fortunate as most of the weddings I photograph now are Jewish. I was looking forward to Gee and Samm’s wedding at the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill ever since they got in touch with me last year. I knew Gee as she was bridesmaid at Jen and Andy’s wedding, which just happened to be my first ever Jewish wedding back in 2014. Since then I’ve photographed many Jewish weddings and been lucky enough to see familiar faces along the way.
Gee and Sam had chosen the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill as their wedding venue for quite specific reasons. Not only does Gee work there, but also Gee’s father worked there for many years and also met Gee’s mother at the hotel. It was lovely seeing Gee’s colleagues at the hotel supporting her throughout the day.
The ceremony was held in a marquee in Portman square, right across the road from the hotel. A fantastic setting which at times was hard to believe was in Central London.
After some rather entertaining and full on Israeli dancing the couples settled down to their meal and speeches. I think it’s fair to say that the best men put quite a bit of effort into their speech, which involved members of the boy band Blue. It was brilliant. As a Jewish Wedding Photographer one of the highlights for me is the incredible party atmosphere.
I was delighted to know that the band for the wedding were The Function Band, who I’ve heard play at other weddings and few bands can get a room dancing quite like these guys. If I was getting married they would be top of my list. Check them out. The whole day was expertly run by Jamie Paskin, one of the best Toastmasters I’ve worked with.
