Hotel Café Royal
The Hotel Café Royal is a beautiful and grand wedding venue with some of the most luxurious rooms you’ll find in London. Trust me, as a London wedding photographer, I’ve worked at a few venues. The contemporary but elegant look achieved at the Hotel Café Royal is second to none. Plus, being in the heart of London the surrounding views are spectacular.
Rebecca & Kay
When my team and I arrived at the Hotel Café Royal, we first visited Rebecca. It turns out that she had been up graded to what the Telegraph had described as the dream suite. The Dome Penthouse suited Rebecca perfectly. Enjoying the views over London, she prepared herself for the ceremony. The room dominates the skyline in central London. Joined by her ever helpful bridesmaid and two darling flower girls, she took the morning in her stride. My second photographer joined Kay and the rest of the boys for their preparations. As they were getting suited and booted, you couldn’t fail to notice the impeccable taste in style that they all shared. Kay even had is name embroidered into his shirt cuffs.
The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place on the 2nd floor, in the stunning Pompadour ballroom. Every mirror caught the light from the large windows and lit the room up. The tall vases holding the delicate flowers were arranged just so and all the guests were in their seats. Everyone held their breath, waiting for Rebecca to enter.
Kay turned to see his two little girls, the flower girls, enter and everyone that thought they could hold in a tear, instantly lost it. I’d seen them both already and knew what the reaction would be. As soon as everyone else laid eyes on them, everyone smiled. Rebecca made her way through the doors and looked stunning. I don’t think Kay realised just how amazing she was going to look in her dress. It was a truly beautiful ceremony and Rebecca and Kay had even written vows for each other. From where I was stood, I could see Rebecca’s mum struggle to fight the tears. It was magical. It was lovely to see so many faces light up as the couple laughed together, enjoying their moment.
Speeches and Photos
The room was quickly prepared for the wedding breakfast and all the guests joined me for group photos. When we returned, the room looked fantastic. Rebecca & Kay’s guests made their way into the ballroom for the Wedding Breakfast and I stole the couple for a few photos. We focused on the Hotel Café Royal’s grand stairs before heading back in to join the party.
It was an amazing wedding and everyone was so happy for Rebecca & Kay. It was amazing to see them happy and to know that after all the fun, they were going to head back to their fantastic view as King and Queen of London for a night.
“I am absolutely thrilled with images, everyone is commenting on how they are the best pictures they have ever seen.
Thanks again Iain I’m so so happy, Rebecca”
