A Hertfordshire Wedding – I’d like to say that the wedding season is now in full swing, but to be honest it has been since February, the only difference between then and now is the weather. Well, almost anyway.
A few weeks ago I was with Emma and Rob photographing their wedding at Haileybury College in Hertfordshire , it also happens to be where Emma works. When I got Emma’s enquiry last year I asked what made them choose the college.. Emma replied “we couldn’t resist having our wedding here with all the beautiful surroundings!!”.
Move forward a year and I finally get to see the college as the couple had decided to have a pre wedding shoot their. It is indeed a very impressive, founded in 1862 with its very own Chapel, the very Chapel that Emma and Rob will marry.
John Erskine (my able bodied Assistant and Second Photographer) and I arrived early at the Hanbury Manor in Ware where Emma and the bridal party were getting ready. Hanbury Manor a Jacobean country house sitting within 200 acres of Hertfordshire parkland, is in itself a very impressive wedding venue. All seemed very calm during bridal prep. The highlight for me was when Emma showed me the card that Rob had given her the day before. He’d managed to buy a Happy Birthday card instead of a wedding card. But in true gentlemanly fashion, he crossed out the Happy Birthday text….what an absolute legend.
Emma and Robs Hertfordshire wedding was a lovely day and I am truly humbled to have been asked to photograph their wedding day. As a London wedding photographer it is nice to occasionally escape the smoke and head out to the countryside.
Here’s a small selection of images which I hope tells the story of Emma and Rob’s wedding day.
