A couple of years ago I was asked to travel to Seville in Spain to photograph Mia and Richard’s fantastic Chinese wedding. Prior to the wedding in Spain the couple had a ceremony in London, which I also photographed. This was great as I got to meet quite a few people who were going to be in Spain. A Destination Wedding in Spain actually makes a lot of sense. It’s beautiful, hot and only a short flight from the UK.
I happened to bump into the couple on the flight over, although at first they didn’t recognise me as the night before I accidentally shaved all my hair off, long story.
I’d arranged with Mia and Richard that on the Thursday before the wedding in Spain we would meet early for what was meant to be a a short pre-wedding shoot. I think it lasted about 6 hours in the end, but definitely worth it. That evening, the cameras were put away and myself and my second shooter (Tony Boyle) joined the couple and their wedding guests for rooftop drinks at the Hotel Fonte Cruz in Seville. The views were incredible, as were the cocktails.
On the Wedding day both Mia and Richard were getting ready at Hotel Alfonso and the plan was for a horse and carriage to take Mia to the church. Richard had the pleasure of squeezing into a taxi with me and Tony. Mia arrived at the beautiful church (Iglesia del Salvador). After the ceremony the guests made their way to the wedding reception venue, the quite incredible Casa Guardiola whilst the couple and I went off for a shoot around the city.
Here’s a few images from the pre-wedding shoot.
