As a London wedding photographer I’ve been invited to photograph weddings all over London and as a result, I’ve come to love this great city of ours and its wonderful architecture. Each suburb in London has its own unique character and represents a microcosm of London life, so I was quite thrilled and excited to be able to visit one of my favourite boroughs when Olga and Yuriy asked me to be their Chelsea wedding photographer.
I was actually almost fully booked but luckily the date they wanted was one of the few spare dates I had for 2013, which delighted the couple and I have to say I was quite pleased myself as I just love an excuse to get out and about in London taking some great shots.
The wedding was to be a small, intimate affair with the ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall which is a classic example of Victorian elegance and grandeur and from where I was able to get some beautifully imposing shots. It’s such a classy venue for a Chelsea wedding.
After the wedding ceremony which was attended by a few of their closest family and friends, we took a classic black London cab ride to the London Eye – that famous icon which now symbolises London.
The couple had booked a Chocolate Tasting Experience with Hotel Chocolat providing a scrumptious selection of chocs and truffles along with champagne to wash it down with and as a very generous and thoughtful treat, the couple had even booked a place for me… well, it would have been rude to have turned it down!
We then made our way to the Ritz where the couple had booked dinner with their family. There were plenty of photo opportunities along the way courtesy of this great capital city. I just love the varied and characterful locations that central London provides; it’s a photographers dream!
I have to extend my huge thanks to Olga and Yuriy for their generosity and for selecting me to be their Chelsea wedding photographer. I hope I have done them justice!
